K.SRINIVAS, IOC AND V.ANIL KUMAR, AGAP IN FINALS:

8th seeded V.Anil Kumar of AGAP and 7th seeded K.Srinivas,IOC reached the men singles finals of first Prashanth Ranade Memorial Carrom Ranking Tournament being held at Maharashtra Mandal, Ramkote, Hyderabad.

Reigning world cup champion K.Srinivas made mincemeat of RD Dinesh Babu of AGAP in the semi-finals whereas V.Anil Kumar (8th seeded) also of AGOP had an easy victory against 5th seeded S.Saibaba of Hyd.

V.Anil Kumar is heading for a double-crown having reached Men Doubles finals partnering RD Dinesh Babu.

In the Women’s section, S.Appoorva of LIC, former world champion beat R.Srivani of RR District at 25-00; 25-00 to enter into Finals. U.Saritha Devi of Postal reached finals from the other half accounting for B.Sunitha of DLRL with a comfortable straight games victory of 25-09 25-00.

Veteran Singles finals will be played between S.Rajendran of Hyderabad and MA Raheem of Karimnagar. Whereas S.Rajendran had a comfortable victory against Anil Palan in the semis winning at 22-12;23-08, M.A.Raheem had a tough time against Martin Menezes of GHMC. MA Raheem won at 25-14; 06-25; 25-12.
